Many of our staff take time out of clinic hours to work with sporting teams at National Competitions – We are very proud to support our staff and athletes at this level.
Bernd Adolph worked with the Swimmers at the Australian Swimming Trials in Sydney, Vickie Furk also joined Bernd for the Age Group Swimming Championships which was held a week after the trials.
On 17th March Natasha Brock traveled to Jesolo, Italy with the Women’s National Gymnastics Team. After National camp at the AIS in Canberra, hopping through Sydney and Dubai, a very weary Australian team arrived in Venice, Italy about 24 hours later, followed by a bus ride to Jesolo. The venue for the competition was great, with lots of room, brand new equipment and lots of seating which was packed out for Finals.
The competition was of a very good standard, with Canada, France, USA and Italy in addition to the Australians. With a team size of four Seniors and three Juniors, including two gymnasts from WAIS, the Australians looked sharp and very professional in their approach, performing quite clean routines with very good artistry and intent. The gymnasts received daily massage from Natasha Brock, Senior Soft Tissue Therapist, and were all fit to go! One unusual incident for the team – a bee sting in the gym – didn’t shake our athletes who had great attitudes and positive training and competition sessions. After three days of competition and numerous training sessions, the team spent a few hours touring Venice, a great finish to a great competition!
